North County Martial Arts Academy is happy to
welcome Sensei David Rauch to our staff.
Mr. David Rauch has over 25 years of experience. He began training in the hard style, YoshinKan Aikido (non-metaphysical) at the age of 13, under Qang Minh Tran, receiving his 3rd Dan in 2000. In 1997 he supplemented his training under the mentoring of Sensei Keith Taylor, of the International YoshinKan Aikido Federation, receiving the rank of Shodan with teaching certificate in 2007. Mr. Rauch operated his own dojo in Albuquerque, New Mexico until recently moving back to Whatcom County. In November, Sensei Rauch will begin providing instruction in the art of Aikido on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Mr Rauch began studying and teaching Yang style Tai Chi under Mr. Robert Fong of Bellingham, Washington. In 1996-97 he operated "Tai Chi for Seniors" at all of the senior centers in Whatcom County. In November he will begin teaching Tai Chi and "Tai Chi for Seniors" at NCMAA.
Mr. Rauch completed his Bachelor's Degree in exercise science with a minor in nutrition in 1992. He has worked as a personal trainer since that time.
Mr. Rauch will be overseeing our fitness program curriculum, providing personal fitness training, and nutritional counseling. he will also be coaching some of the classes of our fitness boot camp.
